Well made and easy to use. I expect to get many years of use

I run a small market garden in San Antonio and heavily use these for most of our transplanted crops. The best thing about these is how easy they make the transplanting process. They're easy to hold in one hand and pop out seedlings with your fingers into dibbed holes. It's perfect for the scale at which we work. We're a bootstrapped operation, so the small size of the transplants relative to other trays I view as a bonus since you need to use less growing media and are lighter weight, so you can fit more in a small growing area. The trays are also made of very rugged plastic, I could see these lasting for a decade plus with moderate care. The only types of garden plants I wouldn't grow in these are things that either immediately become huge (like squash) or benefit from being larger when transplanted (a short list, but things like tomatoes etc). Thumbs up for these trays!!

My bad that I didn't wait for the current great sale! I did purchase a couple of CD60s and they are compact, sturdy, efficient trays that will last forever. A fan of Charles Dowding No Dig, I would have purchased his CD15 as well, but though the text mentioned "larger size", the actual cell volume was the same as CD60 - 1.28 (a misprint?). I went with the HR20 to be sure I got a much larger cell size - 4.27 for when I need expanded space for indoor growing. Many thanks for offering your Planting Guide in the Shipping section! Just started my first round of seeds in these trays. They are sturdy and don’t need as much soil as most other trays. I don’t think they will split and break like the trays I have been using.

From reviews I expected sturdy CD and HR seed starting and watering trays, but, wowza, I’m in love with these! They exceeded my expectation. I’m finding CD30s perfect for lettuce starts and really love the HR10s and 20s for other plants in my home veggie garden. Hello years of healthy plant starts and goodbye to old, thin, easily broken seed trays from the big box stores. Thank you All About Gardening for making these UK products available to US customers.

We do a lot of seed starts and we have tried most all the trays you can think of and they do not last along time and break up or fall apart. With these new trays I have been using for the last three years and they are still solid as the day I bought them so I did order a few more for my fall seeds starts .

The cells in these 40-cell trays have roughly twice the compost capacity as my CD-60s and are PERFECT for larger seeds or plants that need a larger root ball. I use them for my melons, zucchini and pepper plants to give them a little jump on growth. I also use them for my marigolds because the module is large enough to support the fast-growing roots and get to a decent size before planting in the beds. Very happy with the quality and durability of these trays. Added bonus is they fit perfectly in the inexpensive 15” x 11” trays sold on Amazon!
