The cells in these 40-cell trays have roughly twice the compost capacity as my CD-60s and are PERFECT for larger seeds or plants that need a larger root ball. I use them for my melons, zucchini and pepper plants to give them a little jump on growth. I also use them for my marigolds because the module is large enough to support the fast-growing roots and get to a decent size before planting in the beds. Very happy with the quality and durability of these trays. Added bonus is they fit perfectly in the inexpensive 15” x 11” trays sold on Amazon!

These are strong and durable and the perfect size for my home gardening needs. I’ve watched Charles Dowding use these for years and am so grateful they are now available in the US.

These are super sturdy seed starting trays. I especially like the smaller size cells as they require less compost material which, in turns, also helps save money. The large finger holes make it super easy to pop out seedlings without damaging the roots. Highly recommend. All About The Gatden delivered my order promptly and well packed. I tried these seed trays out a few years ago back and now have a dozen, each with the bottom watering tray. They work wonderfully, are tough as nails, and produce wonderful, healthy rootballs. With the bottom watering trays empty, rather than the roots reaching out as they do with throw away trays, the roots air prune at the bottom, which forces the root ball to form. When done, they stack beautifully for storage. I highly recommend these trays!

Extremely sturdy and work like a dream. I’ve been using these trays in combination with various sized plug trays (2x15 cell, 40 cell and 24 cell trays) and not only don’t I have to deal with flimsy throw away plastic anymore, but the plant seems to love being watered from the bottom. The combination make the best root balls and healthy, vigorous seedlings.
